Kwan Chan was founded in 1984 by Mr Goh Cheng Hai. With limited start-up fund in his pocket, a few good ideas and a desire to create a business of his own, a humble traditional bakeware company was launched from the backyard of his home in Butterworth, Penang. In the beginning, Kwan Chan’s product line was only a handful of items, in the range of 10 different type of product skus serving the local market, in a small volume and completely handmade. All of which were specialty Malaysian Chinese ethnic traditional bakeware products— the classic copper and aluminium traditional cake molds.

But times have changed after 36 years of establishment. Today, Kwan Chan not only producing more than 80 different type of product skus serving nationwide market and neighbouring countries, which can be found in over millions of households across Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. Kwan Chan also expanded its business into kitchenware trading and providing Manufacturing of Industrial Products. All of which were completely machine made in its advanced, fully automated and environmental friendly factory located in Sungai Puyu, Butterworth, with high quality requirements and standards.

Moving forward, Kwan Chan planned to focus on doubling its production capacity to better serve its current and transforming itself as a major company through its newly established e-business related company to venture into mainland China and APAC markets.
